Welcome to the Village of Huntley Permit Portal
The e-Permits Portal lets residents and contractors:
- Submit building permit applications online.
- Upload required documents.
- Submit payments for plan review deposits and permits.
Before You Apply
- Review the Permit Guide for Residents or Contractors, the e-Permits FAQ, and the permit type list to select the appropriate permit.
- Do not submit payment until we email you payment instructions.
Submittal Requirements
Most permits need these items:
- Completed Residential or Commercial Permit Application
- Quote or proposal from the general/primary contractor.
- Current licenses for subcontractors (e.g., roofing, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, fire protection).
- 055 and 058 plumbing licenses and a plumbing letter of intent (for plumbing work).
- Plat of Survey with dimensions (for outdoor projects).
- Construction plans, equipment specifications, or product sheets.
- Homeowner Association Approval Letter (for residential exterior projects).
- Property Association or Owner Approval (for commercial events or sign permits).
- Plan Review Application Deposit (for new construction or tenant build-outs).
Note: Missing items may delay processing.
Next Steps
- Application Submission:
- Once you apply online and upload documents, we will process your application.
- If more information is needed, we will contact you.
- For permits requiring a plan review deposit, you will be notified when to make the payment.
- Plan Reviews:
- You’ll receive an email when the review is completed.
- If revisions are required, a plan review letter with comments will be sent.
- Upload revised documents in the e-Permits Portal and notify us for re-review.
- We’ll email you if items like contractor registration or licenses are still needed.
- Permit Approval:
- After approval and contractor registration, you’ll receive an email with:
- Conditions of approval.
- Inspection information.
- Permit fee details (pay online or at Village Hall).
- Payment will be processed the next business day. Afterwards the permit card will be issued and emailed.
- Post the permit card on-site before starting work.
Important: Starting work without a permit card or failing to provide required documents during inspections may result in penalties or re-inspection fees.
